Launching the Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority

Today, we announce the official launch of the Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority, as a pivotal institutional step within the path toward building a comprehensive national cybersecurity framework in the Republic of Sudan.

This launch represents a transition from fragmented handling to institutional governance, through the unification of policies, regulation of roles and responsibilities, and the strengthening of protection for digital infrastructure and critical services, in accordance with a risk-based approach and internationally recognized standards.

The Authority is mandated to lead the national cybersecurity agenda by developing policies and regulatory frameworks, enhancing compliance levels, and building national capacities. This, in turn, supports service stability, strengthens the confidence of partners, and empowers national competencies—particularly youth—to actively participate in the digital economy.

This direction reaffirms Sudan’s commitment to building a secure, well-governed, and resilient digital environment, serving as a foundation for responsible digital transformation and reinforcing the country’s position within regional and international ecosystems.
